Green Bean Fries
Looking to switch up your chippie game a little? Or trying to incorporate more greens into your diet but not really the biggest fan of green coloured veggies? Try these green bean fries, they are such a great alternative to the classic hot chips. They pack a punch of flavour and thanks to the added tapioca flour you won’t be deprived of that crunch that you expect from fries. Add your favourite sauce (such as my homemade smoked garlic mayo or sugar free ketchup) and you won’t even know that you’re munching on beans instead of classic hot chips.
I made these in an air fryer, but I think a normal oven would work just as well. And of course you can fry them too, if that’s your thing. But if you’d like to have a healthier and lighter option, then I would recommend avoiding the frying in oil, as it makes the meal much heavier and it is the worst of all the options for our health even when you use a better oil.
- 250g green beans
- 2 tbsp tapioca flour
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp dukkah
- Pinch of salt
- Clean the green beans and cut the stringy ends off.
- Place the beans in a bowl and add all the other ingredients. Shake the beans to cover them in the spices.
- Place the beans into an air fryer set at 180 C for 15 minutes, spread them as much as you can.
- Enjoy as a snack with your favourite sauces (such as my homemade smoked garlic mayo or sugar free ketchup) or for example as a side with burgers etc
