So, Valentine’s Day is around the corner. And I thought that as a good food blogger I should post a recipe for this special day. And that’s exactly when I get a bit stuck. I don’t like to do things just because they are expected. Or because others do it. I don’t even really celebrate Valentine’s. But. It’s a good excuse to enjoy some good food and drinks with my husband. I’m always in when it’s about food. But honestly I just don’t feel like coming up with another chocolate recipe because it’s expected for this day. So here is something different we would enjoy – Beetroot Hummus (Paleo, Whole30, Low Carb). I think it’s actually perfect for Valentine’s, at least because of the colour 🙂
This recipe always takes me straight to my childhood. Because I just loved all the types of spreads and remoulades as a kid. Especially the ones with mayonnaise. Czech people would actually spread almost anything over their slice of bread. My husband still can’t believe how many different spreads, remoulades, relishes, pates etc. we have. But some of them can include quite some nasties, especially when store bought. Luckily that’s not the case with this homemade Celeriac Remoulade. I don’t have to remove it out of my diet even as a food conscious adult. Because it needs only few whole ingredients, actually making for a very healthy treat. Combine it with my Grain Free Pumpernickel Bread and light meal can be served in matter of minutes.
Are you a sweet breakfast person? Or do you better give way to the beautiful satisfying savory heaven like eggs and bacon in the morning? Yeah, I guess you can say which brekky I prefer. The only sweet exception would be probably breakfast bowls as you can see in Chocolate Protein Smoothie Bowl. However when I have the time I would definitely go for the salty version. Like I did this morning with the Coconut Flour Savory Pancakes (Paleo, Low Carb)
It’s still such warm weather here in Australia which for me means lots of BBQ and lighter meals. That’s why I made the Sticky Ginger Chicken Wings yesterday (we were so hungry that I just wasn’t able to make pictures, but I will be definitely making the wings soon again) and this Asian Style Coleslaw (Paleo, Whole30, Low Carb) on a side. At least the salad is served cold so I could snap a couple pics before dinner.
This Butternut Squash Cream Soup With Turmeric (Paleo, Whole30) is a perfect dish for winter weather.
At least for the terrible weather afflicting our little country now.
